Tips and Tricks: Half Moon Manicure

My best friend asked me the other day if I knew how to do a Half Moon Manicure. I told her that, in fact , I knew four ways to archive that manicure. I always loved that manicure because my grandma has been wearing her nails like that since she was a jung girl. I'm so glad that this manicure is a trend again! Anyway, the first way is to do the manicure freehand. The result may not be that perfect. Two other ways consist in using stencils like hole reinforcements (stickers to protect the holes in paper) or tip guides. But, if you don't have those stencils and you still want to do the Half Moon Manicure, you can try this method:

Mi mejor amiga me preguntó el otro día si sabía hacer la Manicura de Media Luna. Yo le contesté que no sólo sabía cómo hacerlo, sino que le podía decir cuatro formas diferentes. Siempre me ha encantado esta manicura porque mi abuela la ha llevado toda la vida, desde que era joven. ¡Estoy tan contenta de que vuelva a estar de moda! En cualquier caso, la primera forma de conseguir esta manicura es a mano alzada. Claro, los resultados pueden no ser perfectos. Dos otras formas es utilizar plantillas como protectores de agujeros (esas pegatinas que se usan para los papeles con agujeros) o guías para hacer la manicura francesa y usarlas a la inversa. Pero si en el momento no tienes esas plantillas y quieres hacerte la Manicura de Media Luna, puedes probar este método:

1. Paint your nails the color you want for the half moon shape. I used a white nail polish because it's the original color for this manicure. (NYX - White)


1. Pinta tus uñas del color que quieras la forma de la media luna. He usado un pintauñas blanco porque es el color original para esta manicura (NYX-White)

2.Take a piece os tape and draw a half moon shape on it (it will depend on your own nail shape). Cut the half moon shape off.

2.Pinta la forma de media luna en un trozo de celo (dependerá de la propia forma de tu uña). Recorta la forma de media luna.

3. Place the tape on your nail like this.

3. Pega el celo en tu uña de esta forma.

4. Paint your nails as always. The red color is the classic color for the Half Moon Manicure. (China Glaze - Ruby Pumps).

4. Pinta tus uñas como lo haces normalmente. El color rojo es el color clásico para la Manicura de Media Luna. (China Glaze - Ruby Pumps).

5. Wait till the nail polish is dry and take the tape slowly away. This is the final result.

5. Espera hasta que se haya secado el pintauñas y quita el celo lentamente. Este es el resultado final.

You can also try other color combinations out. For this one I used China Glaze Devotion as a base and Catrice It Blue My Mind! as the main color.
