Review and Swatches: Sleek Storm Palette

Hello! 

Today I'm going to show you the second palette I got from Sleek, the Storm Palette. If you want to know what I think of the eyeshadows, the packaging and so on, check out the Original Palette Review I did clicking here.

I think the color selection of the Storm Palette is great because you get a first row of neutral light colors and a second row of dark colors. You can do wearable daytime looks and smokey dark looks for the night. If I had to choose one of the two Sleek palettes that I own for a trip I would definitely choose this one because of the versatility. I love that the palette includes three basic matte eyeshadows (black, light brown and medium brown)

Hoy os voy a enseñar la segunda paleta que compré de Sleek, la Paleta Storm. Si quieres saber lo que pienso de las sombras, la presentación etcétera, mira el review que hice sobre la Paleta Original clickeando aquí.

Pienso que la selección de colores de la Paleta Storm es genial, ya que obtienes una primera fila de colores neutros para el día y una segunda fila de colores oscuros para looks ahumados para la noche. Si tuviera que elegir una de las dos paletas de Sleek que tengo para un viaje elegiría la Storm por lo versátil que es. Me encanta que la paleta tenga tres sombras mates básicas (negro, marrón claro y marrón medio).

Review and Swatches: Sleek Original Palette

Hello!

Say hello to my new love: the Sleek Original Palette! I just got this palette and the Storm palette and I'm impressed with the quality of both of them (but today I'm just going to show you the Original one). The colors are so beautiful, all of them have shimmer except for the black one that is matte and the pigmentation of all of them is great. The consistence is a little bit on the powdery side, but I didn't have any fallouts when applying the colors. Although the size seems to be a lot smaller than a MAC eyeshadow, the Sleek eyeshadows have 1,1 g and the MAC 1,4, so there isn't that much of a difference. I also really loved the packaging because it's not cheap looking and it's very compact. The palette has also a mirror so it's great for travelling, you just need one palette and you have a lot of colors and a mirror. It came with a sponge applicator but I don't use them and I took it away before I took the photos...sorry!

The price was 8,50 € for all the 12 eyeshadows, you can't beat that price! 

I highly, highly recommend this palette!

Decid hola a mi nuevo amor: ¡la Paleta Original de Sleek! Acabo de recibir esta paleta y la Storm hace unos días y estoy impresionadísima con la calidad de ambas (pero hoy sólo os enseñare la Original). Los colores son preciosos, todos tienen brillo excepto el negro que es matte y la pigmentación te todas las sombras es genial. La consistencia es un poco tirando a polvorienta pero no me cayó mucha sombra al maquillarme. Aunque el tamaño parezca muy pequeño comparándolo con una sombra de MAC, las the Sleek tienen 1,1 g y las de MAC 1,4, por lo que no hay una diferencia tan grande como parece. Igualmente me gusto muchísimo la presentación porque no parece nada "barata" y es muy compacta. Además la paleta tiene un espejo, por lo que es genial para viajes, te llevas todos esos colores y un espejo en un sola paleta. También viene con un aplicador de esponjitas pero lo quité antes de sacar las fotos porque no los suelo usar...¡perdón!

El precio fue de 8,50 € por todas las sombras, ¡es un precio imbatible!

Recomiendo mushísimo esta paleta.

Review: Sigma Brushes Part II (Face)

In this post I will show you the face brushes of the Sigma Complete Kit. You can check out the first part of the review first part of the review to know more about the eye brushes and my rating system.

En esta entrada voy a enseñaros las brochas para la cara del Complete Kit de Sigma. Puedes ver la primera parte del review para averiguar más sobre los pinceles para ojos y para ver mi sistema de calificación. 

Large Powder

Natural bristles.Very dense, but could be softer. It feels good on my skin although. I use it for blending my powder foundation or applying setting powder.

Pelo natural. Muy denso, pero podría ser más suave. De todas formas lo siento agradable sobre la piel. Lo uso para difuminar bien mi base en polvo o para aplicar polvos matificadores.

Large Angled Contour 

Natural bristles. I use this one for contouring. Great. Due to the angled tip, the brush fits perfectly into the hollows of your cheeks. 

Pelo natural. Uso este pincel para contornear. Genial. Gracias a la punta biselada el pincel se acomoda perfectamente al hueco debajo del pómulo.

Duo Fibre

Synthetic and natural bristles.This is the brush like the less. It's ok, but I would like it to be more dense. When I washed it, it losed color and the white bristles were stained with the black color. 

Pelo sintético y natural. Este es el pincel que me gusta menos. Está bien, pero me gustaría que fuese más denso. Cuando lo lavo a veces pierde color y los pelos blancos se tiñen de negro.

Foundation

Synthetic bristles. Very soft and dense. The feeling of this brush is amazing. I have to admit, I don't use it very often because I do my foundation with my fingers or the Duo Fibre but it's still a great brush.

Pelo sintético. Muy suave y denso. La sensación de este pincel es genial. Tengo que admitir que no lo uso muy a menudo porque porque suelo usar mis dedos o el Duo Fibre para mi base líquida, aun así es una brocha genial.

   

Concealer

The mini version of the Foundation brush. It's basically the same but smaller. Again, I don't use this one very much because I prefer my fingers, but it's a great concealer brush.

Es la mini versión de la brocha Foundation. Es básicamente la misma en pequeña. Otra vez, este no lo uso mucho porque prefiero usar mis dedos, pero es una brocha genial para usar el corrector.

Comparison / Comparación :

Sigma SS 187 or F50 and MAC 187 

As you can see, Sigma brushes have an larger handle than MAC ones. Although I can't complain about the size of the MAC brush (it's a great one), I also I like the larger handle of the Sigma brush. All brushes are larger than the MAC ones with the same number/name.

Como podéis ver, las brochas de Sigma tienen un mango más largo que las de MAC. Realmente no puedo  quejarme del tamaño de la brocha de MAC (me va de maravilla) pero también me gusta el mango más grande de la brocha Sigma. Todos los pinceles de Sigma son más largos que los de MAC con el mismo nombre/número.

Overall Opinion:

I love this kit. It defenitly has brushes I absolutely love and others that I just like, but I use all of them and they are very good quality brushes. Keep in mind, that my brushes are more than one year old, the quality may have improved even more, and there are also a lot of new brushes you can get. I highly recommend this brush kit, you won't be disappointed.

Me encanta este kit. Definitivamente hay pinceles que adoro y luego hay otros que simplemente me gustan, pero los uso todos y son brochas de muy buena calidad. Recordad, que mis brochas son de hace más de un año, la marca ha podido mejorar su calidad en todo este tiempo, además sé que han añadido muchos pinceles nuevos a su colección. Recomiendo totalmente este kit, no te decepcionará.

Sigma Brushes Part I (Eyes)

I have my Sigma Brushes for over a year, so I thought I could write a review, since I used them daily, and take some pictures so you could see how they look like after a year of use. The kit I own is the Complete Kit with Brush Roll (12 brushes) and the names on the brushes are still the first ones, so I will refer to the brushes the two ways, the old and the new one.

To review the brushes I have done a rating system, the criterions I used are: Shedding , Fading, Softness and Overall. It will be symbolized with 5 stars: 0 is "nothing" and 5 "a lot". So for example, A brush with no star in shedding is a very good brush because it doesn't shed, but brush with 5 stars in softness is a very soft and great brush. The criterions Fading and Shedding will have red stars (negative), and Softness and Overall will have green stars (positive). I hope it's easy to understand.

I will also explain you the way I use them and maybe compare them to other brushes.


Today I will show you just the eye brushes.

Tengo mis pinceles Sigma desde hace más de un año, así que pensé que podría hacer un review, ya que los he usado a diario, y sacar algunas fotos para que podáis ver cómo se ven después de un año de uso. El kit que tengo es el Complete Kit with Brush Roll (12 brochas) con la nomenclatura antigua, por lo que me referiré a los pinceles con los nombres antiguos y los nuevos. 

Para hacer el review he hecho un sistema de calificación, los criterios que he que usado son:  Pérdida de pelo (Shedding),  Pérdida de color (Fading), Suavidad (Softness) y General (Overall). Estos criterios estarán simbolizados con 5 estrellas 0 significa "nada" y 5 "mucho". Por ejemplo, un pincel con 0 estrellas en pérdida de pelo será muy bueno porque no perderá ningún pelo, pero un pincel con 5 estrellas en suavidad será un pincel bueno también porque será muy suave. Los criterios Pérdida de color (Fading) y pelo (Shedding) tendrán estrellas rojas (negativas) y Suavidad (Softness) y General (Overall) las tendrán verdes (positivas). Espero que se entienda bien. Igualmente explicaré cómo uso los pinceles y quizás los compare con otros de otras marcas.


Hoy sólo hablaré de los pinceles para los ojos.

Eye Liner

This brush is supposed to be an eyeliner brush... I just didn't find a use for it, I prefer the E65 as an eyeliner brush. It didn't work either as a lip brush.

Este pincel se supone que es para el eyeliner... Yo simplemente no le he encontrado ningún uso. Como pincel de eyeliner prefiero mil veces el E65. Tampoco me sirvió como pincel para labios.

Tapered Blending
I use this brush for blending every single day. It's fluffy (could be a little bit softer) and big, and that's just perfect for my eye-shape. For smaller eyes this brush could be too big. It faded a little bit (as you can see it's not so black anymore) but I didn't actually notice it while cleaning it. 
Uso esta brocha todos los días para difuminar. Es suave (podría serlo un poco más) y grande, perfecto para mi forma de ojo. Para ojos más pequeños podría ser un pincel demasiado grande. Destiñó un poco (como podéis ver ya no es del todo negro) pero realmente no me di cuenta de ello mientras lo limpiaba).

Eye Shading
Natural bristles. This brush is one of my favorites. I think it has the perfect size por a basic eye brush, not to small, not to big. Probably good for every eye shape. I use it to pack on eye shadow to the lid. 

Pelo natural. Este pincel es uno de mis favoritos. Pienso que tiene el tamaño perfecto para un pincel básico de ojos, no demasiado grande ni demasiado pequeño. Probablemente sirva a cualquier forma de ojo. Lo uso para aplicar la sombra en el párpado. 

Large Shader
Natural bristles. I use this brush to pack on pigments or creme bases to the lid. When I need to blend harsh edges (specially with smokey looks) I use this one at the end so I get a more blended result.
Pelo natural. Utilizo este pincel para aplicar pigmentos o bases en crema al párpado. Cuando necesito difuminar bordes muy marcados (en el caso de looks ahumados especialmente) uso esta brocha al final para conseguir un resultado más difuminado.

Medium Angled Shading
Natural Bristles. It's the softest of all the collection - very, very soft. A very interesting angled shape. I use it for blending or applying my highlighter under the brow bone. You can use it actually instead of a lot of brushes.

Es el más suave de la colección - muy, muy suave. Tiene una forma biselada muy interesante. Lo uso para difuminar o aplicar el iluminador debajo de la ceja. Realmente puede sustituir a muchos pinceles.

                           

Small Angle 

Synthetic bristles. My absolut favorite brush for doing eyeliner. The size is perfect and I also love that it is a little bit stiff, because most of these kind of brushes are to soft for me and I can't draw my eyeliner right (the shape is "stiffer", not the bristles!) 

Mi pincel favorito para hacer el eyeliner. Tiene el tamaño perfecto y me encanta que sea un poco duro, ya que muchos pinceles de este tipo son muy blandos para mi gusto y no consigo hacerme la línea bien (¡la forma es "más dura" no los pelos!).

Do you see how MAC's brush is larger and not as dense as the Sigma one? The sigma one is more precise.

¿Véis cómo el pincel de MAC es más grande y menos denso que el de Sigma? El de Sigma es más preciso.

Review: Sugarpill eyeshadows

Recently I purchased this Sugarpill quad and single eye shadow. Sugarpill is a fairly new company that offers very bright and fun colors. In their online-shop you can not only find pressed eye shadows, you can also find very beautiful pigments. 

I don't know if this applies to all the countries or just to Spain, but the shipping was very fast (just one week) and the price is very good compared to other webshops. 

Recientemente compré este cuarteto de Sugarpill y una sombra individual. Sugarpill es una compañía bastante nueva que ofrece colores vivos y divertidos. En su tienda online no sólo venden sombras (como las que yo tengo), sino que también podéis encontrar preciosos pigmentos. 

No sé si esto ocurrirá para todos los países o sólo para España, o si depende de las fechas, pero el envío fue rapidísimo (sólo una semana) y el precio está muy bien comparado con otras tiendas online (sobre todo desde Estados Unidos a Europa). 

                                 

The presentation was the cutest thing I've ever seen. It all came wrapped in pink paper, with stickers and cards. Amy, Sugarpill's owner, wrote herself a little "thank you" on the billing.  I really like those kind of details. The packaging of the products is very fun and I'm keeping the packaging just because I find it soo pretty. I think Suarpill's design is so cool. 

La presentación fue lo más mono que he visto en mucho tiempo. Todo vino envuelto en papel de seda rosa con pegatinas y tarjetas. La propietaria de Sugarpill hasta escribió un "gracias" en la factura. Yo valoro mucho esos pequeños detalles. La presentación de los productos es divertidísima y colorida, no pienso tirar las cajas de lo bonitas que me parecen. En lineas generales, me gusta mucho todo el diseño de Sugarpill.

REVIEW:

4-Color Palette: Cold Heart

Left to right: Bulletproof, Poison Plum, Tako, Afterparty

As you can see on the swatches, Poison Plum has a little less color payoff than the rest. Afterparty is the most pigmented of all of them. Tako is also one of the best matte white eye shadow I have ever used. Be careful with Bulletproof because it blends better than other blacks and you could easily get an all-black eye when applying your makeup. One thing to mention is that they stain a little bit, but after washing it off, there shouldn't be any color left.

Como podéis ver en las fotos, Poison Plum tiene menos pigmentación que el resto de los colores. En cambio, Afterparty es el más pigmentado de todos. Tako es también la mejor sombra blanca mate que he usado. Tened cuidado al usar Bulletproof, ya que difumina muy bien, mejor que otros negros, y podéis acabar con el ojo entero negro cuando os maquilléis. Una cosa a mencionar es que manchan un poco la piel, pero después de desmaquillaros bien no debería de quedar ningún resto de color.

Midori Pressed Eyeshadow

I love this color, it's very, very pigmented and it applies like heaven. My favorite of the ones I got. 

Me encanta este color. Es muy, muy pigmentado y se aplica genial. Es mi color favorito de todos los que compré.
